I was heading to a 7-11 outlet at the rest area and it was a really small outlet, which only house a single staff.
A quick brief about Craze Hotties, it is a potato based snack with heavy chicken tasting like seasoning, it is really crispy which is shaped like a cylinder and its an item which 7-11 was selling for years.

Anyway just a quick idea here, the machine that appears to be ‘cooking’ or frying the snack just seems to be like a simple warmer after I found this gigantic snack right in front of the machine.

Not everything is legit. – probably just a random thought.

A few weeks ago, after an offer by Deal.com.sg, I went to snap up that offer and head over to the Indian Times restaurant for a blend of good Indian food. So I am going to share with you some of the photos and food over there.

You will be greeted by the reception and a seat will be served. If you have about 3 to 4 people (and make a reservation), you get to seat on an wooden platform and get access to better seats and bigger tables.

However as a normal visitor to the restaurant, you will get a decent table with a mini BBQ oven in the centre.

Their dinner buffet is a really eye opening experience and the kebabs is well flavoured and textured. Just that it is a little dry, but luckily, its not overly oily like some of them you find outside. The meat portion is generous as well and the vegetables are well flavoured.

The cool Indian bread, also known as Naan, is an oven baked flatbread, its well baked, not overly burnt. It is not too salty nor too sweet and it provides just the right flavour.

The buffet queue starts from here, I have to start off apologizing as I do not have much knowledge about Indian food, but I hope my photos provide some inspiration here.

First up, its an Indian rice, the rice is not the normal ones you find at the local supermarket. Its those kind of rice which is really long and thin and contains lots of spices along with green peas, carrots and a little corn.

The next dish is Raitha – Yogurt with Onions, Tomatoes and Cucumber and Dal Palak, Yellow Lentils Cooked with Spinach till perfection.

The next dish is fried-tempura look like long beans which looks really nice. It tastes really nice as well. – Although it feels overly fried, the overall crisp is there.

The Potato Masala is also really nice and it provides the blend of flavour and taste in the herbs and spices. Just that it taste a little to potato-ey, without anything else. I know that the restaurants also cater to vegetarians as well.

The spinach chicken shows the distinct style of Indian cooking and the chicken provides a good aroma to the dish, along with a blend of nutricious and Popeye favourite dish to keep you going to the next dish.

This is chicken with lady fingers and some spice / herbs. I would not say this taste really awesome, but the lady fingers was pretty good actually.

As for desert, there’s Semiya Payasam – Desert made up of semolina of milk and Cashewnuts.

To me this seems like a fruit, but I did not try it before. (Can someone fill me up if you have knowledge about this?)

Alright, I tried to write this article to the best of my ability, if you wish share some of your knowledge, please do in the comments section.

If you like something for a change, not like just the same cliche food like Hokkien Mee or Char Kway Teow, or even Carrot Cake, you should try this outlet at the highest floor at Suntec’s Tower 1.

First up this is a <strike>seaweed</strike> grape leaves wrapped sushi with Tomato and a little white cream sauce around it, wrapped inside is a little meat and rice. It’s pretty nice actually.

This is Beef steak, its not too interesting to look at, but while tasting it, it is really good, it has a really good sauce. Like literally, the sauce is not from your local supermarket?

Chicken Drumstick Stew with Vegetables and the lovely sauce with Rice underneave

The desert is really nice as well.

It’s really nice and it taste sweet! I mean, you have to try it. I couldn’t comment much on it but it is really good, as it just taste sweet and savory.

Go and try it out someday, it should be beside a Japanese buffet restaurant and another French Cuisine shop or something.

Today, I visited Quizno’s due to the Groupon offer that was offered to me, so it was incredibly good deal, and since I never had Quiznos before, I thought that it was a good time to try it, so I took the plunge and tried it.

The following is the pricing for Quiznos in Singapore, which was a simple snapshot of their pricing chart.

As you can see, the prices are pretty reasonable.

Although the lunch hours is pretty crazy and you would wait up to about 20 to 30 minutes for a meal, it is due to the limited space. Other than that, it is good.

Many sides were given such as Peppercncinis, Pickles and stuff like that. I don’t have a good memory for stuff that I seldom eat
But I did gave a try!

If you love sauces (like me), you wont regret eating this, it is good and some examples include Mustard, Horseradish and the other one which I couldn’t remember about.

This is just a few assortment of what we ate on the toppings.

This is the Terriyaki Chicken sub.

(This is the footlong)
This is what I ate, which is the Terriyaki Chicken Sub, I would say that this sub is actually quite unique, due to the terriyaki sauce. From what I see, it was just chunks of breast meat with Terriyaki sauce.

This more interesting sub, and definitely one of our office favouries is this Zesty Steak sub, it taste amazing, the meat is tender and they don’t shrimp on the quality and the quantity. The sauce is far better than the Teriyaki Chicken.

As this is worth tasting, this is far better than what I ate on the top. Like seriously, this taste so good.
If you add $2.70 to your meal, you could get a small drink and chips OR a cookie (Which is pretty big) OR in total, just get a cup of soup (Which you don’t get the drink and the cookie nor chips)

The chocolate chip cookie is actually really big, bigger than my palm, an estimate is putting 2 credit cards side by side.
This is really interesting, isn’t it.

Alright, thats pretty much it.
If you have any cool subs you would like to recommend, pass it on @jeremy89632

J.

PS: It seems like there’s too much blog posts in relation to food. Will cut on it

I think you must have heard of the irresistible offer on the papers or on social media. As a matter of fact, if you feel that you are new to this, you must be pretty dated, because sometime back (1 to 2 weeks prior to Burger King’s offer, McDonald’s did the exact same thing, putting up flyers on their website for people to print and to upload to their social network accounts (Facebook or Twitter) to catch more attention and the main reason, to increase sales. Except McDonalds had a offer for one of the meals.

There was a one to one offer [Get literally any other burger free] (Buy one get one free for any extra value meals) for a previous promotion they had.

Alright, lets move on to this promotion that Burger King had, I have to say that I am almost out of breath when I saw the devastating queue, it was so long that it took up more than half an hour of my lunch time just for queuing up. (One coupon is only valid for one physical person only)

You probably might think this is no big deal, by looking at this single photo, you should probably look at the photo below from the other angle.

That must be something crazy, right.

Alright, so after that long queue, no one actually cares about waiting for good food, isn’t it.

That’s the packaging for the burger, its looks kinda fine right.

Inside the burger contains some lettuce, the flame grilled patty, tomatoes and mayo.

Which would than look something like this!

Anyway, in my point, this is fairly interesting, leveraging on social media technologies which is crowd sourced to bring your product out to consumers.

I got the additional whopper and fries anyway, I skipped breakfast, so a heavy brunch.

You know, this is really random photos of lunch we had in our office, and like all the other Whacko blog post I had ..
Whacko brings you really random photos from my phone, camera or scraps from the World Wide Web.
–
Alright, to start it off, we got the KFC Family Meal, which cost about $30 for the entire set.

Behind this wrapping is 2 cool pepsi’s.

Cool huh!

That’s where all the cool chickens come in, yes KFC recipe chicken won’t fail you. In fact the guy behind the delivery line asks you which part of the chicken do you want.

As usual, the lovely drumstick that is with it as well, looks nice.

The family set comes with the popcorn chicken as well.

And like all the other Chinese New Year festive deals, KFC came out with their prosperity egg tarts.

Alright, I know this is extremely short and is not the usual me, but this is some office sin-ness I would like to get off my chest!

Courtesy of @daphnemaia of Popeyes chicken in Singapore (Punggol Outlet).
Due to crowded Cathay outlet, because it’s located in the city and it’s only a single unit in the basement. So, I thought that the shot of the punggol outlet looks better for the post instead.

This is a shot of the 3 piece chicken, which I feel in comparison to KFC, its crispy and taste much better as it’s tender and its not overly coated with thousands of flour on it (Fully in my opinion that is). However, KFC have slightly better spices. But oh well, its a tradeoff.
In the background, that’s a biscuit, which is basically just small pieces of crispy baked bread, but it just taste so good. They also provide jam (as a topping) to be added on the biscuit.

Chicken Tenders 5 pieces, for about $8 SGD. Which you will get a drink, fries and 2 pieces of biscuits. The tenders isn’t appealing and cutting it for me, I rather you go over to McDonalds and eat their nuggets instead.

If you are wondering that you will be having ordinary fries such as the one you can get in the supermarket, you can pretty much forget about it because based on my analytical tongue, the fries is apparently good, crisp, hot and tender. You could really feel the potato in it and not coated with tons of flour. They also include their own spices like what 4 fingers bonchon chicken do.

If you have a chance, you should request for their drumsticks, I wouldn’t dare say its the best in the world. But you know, juicy, tender and sweet and that’s pretty much all on what I could describe how it taste like. – Which is obviously good!

Here is a cross section cut in it. if it looks sweet, you can definitely feel how it taste like. Again, not too much flour.

Again, one of the their known food is their mash potatoes, which is slightly different. I couldn’t quite explain it, but their sauce on the potatoes is pretty unique and not the style you will get in other fast food chains.

Go ahead and try it and here’s my homework for you, once you are done with it, tweet me @jeremy89632 and tell me how is it!
Yum.

The main attraction is this pumpkin rice with mushrooms and lots of extra stuff inside.(Shrimps and such) Really nice.
From one of the famous finger food outlets in Singapore, Old Chung Kee, this is their $1.40 per piece chicken wing. There’s 10 wings in that box.

For a healthy lifestyle, check out this microwaved fishballs, no oil no nonsense, just plain balls. Yes, it stops here, I am not writing more.
There’s a lovely green bean sponsored desert. Contrary from what it looks like, the flavor of the green beans is really strong and it does not taste really sweet nor blend.

EDIT: 15May11 – I was told that they are opening a new branch in Parkway Parade, Tampines Mall (Yay for those living in the east) and Great World City! There’s a new spicy-cheese flavoured popcorn now!

With it’s massive success in the Marina Bay Sands branch, Garrett Popcorn seems to be everyone’s favourite for quick snacks and bites while you are on the move. It seems like the trend will continue from here and of course, I am quick to pick it up and see how it all goes.

The inventory of corn which is located in the front of consumers would probably tell you that this is no ordinary business. They are just selling one and their only flagship product, popcorn.

(Prices in SGD)
You know, everything is about prices this day. I would have to admit that their pricing is really high, which I will get to the quality of the popcorn later. As for the portion and size, I have to say that the pricing suits the corn that you receive. The quantity is reasonable and they do not shrimp on the popcorn which they provide which is really important as a business. Especially in the food and beverage industry.

This really cool popcorn like clock. Below the clocks are the packages you could choose between. Shown in it’s ascending size, Small, Medium, Large and Jumbo.

As shown in the picture above, you could also choose between 1, 2 or 3.5 or 6 Gallens. (Who eat that much corn?!)

(This is the caramel flavoured popcorn)
The popcorn taste is balanced. You do not get saturated popcorn – A portion of the popcorn which taste overly sweet or sour and the other parts which taste normal. The popcorn’s is well blended. The popcorn is crisp and do not taste overly dry or soggy which happens to Cinema’s popcorns. The flavour is strong and well coated with no obvious flaw, its not overly sweet.
However, the downside is the price, at the rate that you are paying, you could get about 1.5 to 2 boxes of popcorn from your nearby cinema. Again, its the matter or Quality vs Quantity.
As there’s no place or sit in’s to enjoy the popcorn that I just bought. The Caramel flavour for $12, I was given a carrier to bring it back to my office and share it with my colleagues.
The popcorn is put into this plastic bag sub paper bag, which is really durable. Durable as in, you could easily tear it but it is able to keep the popcorn and all the freshness intact. Definitely no soggy oily popcorn at the bottom of the bag. Which I really hate.
To prevent any type of oil from leaking, although they don’t really leak any type of oil. Another layer of paper bag is given.

But again to wrap it up, its the quality that you are paying for, if you just want a quick snack for a low budget, you might have to look for it somewhere else.
