AES Flag Day 2010 | Singapore Association for the Deaf

Every year, my school (Assumption English School) will organise a flag day, and basically if you don’t get what does that mean, every single year we have to carry those big donation tins to ask people for donations and people may spare some coins or notes.
This year, our beneficiary is for the Singapore Association for the Deaf
However, this year is a little different.
We dont have tins, we have bags!

Hahaha. Alright, not much of a difference, however, I want to point out something..
IMAG0821
If you ever thought about hijacking the bag, you can never do it. You put your coins in this small compartment, and than it will drop into the bigger compartment below the bag. (Its really hard to explain, you have to try to figure that out)

As usual, we have to report to school at 8.30pm. All the teachers is there, ready to make noise when students is misbehaving or causing a nuisense. Oh, come on, we are the elites.

After waiting for almost 15 mins to half an hour, we are told to depart. So we have to get some gear before we are told to go out.
IMAG0813
We have to take one of this big trays. Inside contain a few interesting items.

IMAG0840
- We received sweets, which is handmade by Sticky. A company in Singapore which does sweets.
IMAG0816
- Received newwater, provided by school.
IMAG0817
- As well as a bag to collect cash and some stickers. It comes with a collection licence slip.

You might be wondering what is the sweets for.. At first I thought it is for us (The collectors) to eat.
What I found out was, when someone donates $1 or more, I have to give them that small packet of sweet.
IMAG0818
This is 3 handmade sweets stuck together.

So in the end, you end up carrying something like that.

We went out to get cash and had lots of fun talking to uncles about our donations and blabla.
After that, we are dead tired, so our dear friend Erick sit down on a pole near the bus stop, everyone will donate to him when he sits this way..
IMAG0824
Poor Erick.
IMAG0825
When he knew that he is being photographed, he is totally depressed and he had to hide his face.

At around 12.30pm, we were told to end all collections and report back to Woodlands MRT.
IMAG0831
We end up seeing a VERY LONG queue. However, when we see closely, thats not our school, thats Fuchun Secondary.
IMAG0833
Thats how short is our queue is, only 2 people. Our queue is right beside Fuchun Secondary, thats why.

After the collection, went over to friend’s place to get a bite.
IMAG0836
This Chicken Chop cost $4.50 and it taste quite good.
IMAG0838
Than I went over to his place to fix his PC. Installed an antivirus.
