SonicGear Earpump 2 Review

EDIT: Article Updated – 22April2011

Hello Guys,
I am going to take a spin for the SonicGear Earpump 2.
I have been using SonicGear Earpump 1 for about 2 years and one day, it spoiled, apparently I bent the cable too much until one side can hear only, and the other side no sound, so I waited (And put my name on the reservation list) for the Earpump 2.
I bought mine from Cyberactive for $29.90 (Its standard price), which has quite a number of shops here islandwide.

On the first look, the packaging looks bright and its quite attractive.
They have 4 colours, Orange, Black, Green and Red.

When taken apart, its neatly packaged. Which I will give it a +1 appearance.

It includes a carrying-case too, which they throw in a few extra earbuds.

And as you can see, they really gave quite a lot of earbuds.

The Punchy Bass is strong and the sound produced its good.
However, if you are talking about sound isolation, the earphones must be punched into the ear canal, which feels like there is something stuck in the ears, and it covers the sound pretty good!
For Bass, I will give it a 9/10 as its really good. Its also a 3.5mm gold plated jack!
Talking about the bass, the vocals lacked a bit, because of the strong bass. The vocals is quite clear but not too comparable to the Sennheiser CX 300.
The burn in for the headphones is about 50 to 60 hours before you could feel the enhanced bass on the earphones.

This headphones is definitely a good pair and its the ultimate bang for the buck headphones.

Cheers.

UPDATE: The earphones is really good for a start, however after use for certain periods of time. The sound quality really decreased over time, the bass is no longer as strong as before. However, the treble seems to have been improving, providing me with much sharper and crisp sound to my ears. It really depends on your usage, however for me, it took about 8 months to 9 for that to happen.
To put it all into comparison, the newer updated rating would be about 7.5/10, taking into account with the pricing and the moderate build quality of the headphones. (I have friends who had one side of the earphones inaudible after a few months. Again, it depends from individual to individual usage as one of my friend’s usage is pretty heavy)
Again, if you are looking for a better bang for your buck earphones, you should definitely check out SoundMagic (Decent – Extreme Bass, good sound quality of the price), MEElectronics (Excellent build quality and accessories, really good sound quality for the price, heavy bass but treble and vocals could be heard much better than SoundMagic) and the much lesser known Visang (Brainwavz), which leans more to the treble side.
