Visited SingTel recently for the Infocomm Possibilities @ Work visit under the Infocomm Development Authority.

Firstly, the company’s PR people went to introduce their company, she gave a good introduction about the company and showed us the company through the touchscreen navigation panel at the front.

Secondly, they showed us SingTel’s phone banking system. Which is a combination of devices used to authenticate the user into the system.

Thirdly, SingTel had their LMS system which they showed us, they basically teamed up with alot of different software and hardware providers like AskNLearn to make this available.

Fourthly, they showed us their location based tracking system. For example you have a cargo worth $1 million cargo in a truck and you want to track it, there is a realtime system which will update the truck location every few seconds and it will report where is the truck’s location, even if it is in Malaysia! You can even choose to slow down the truck and make the truck stop, as in, immobilize the vehicle.

Fifth, we went into the SingTel Business Solutions Centre, there is a SMS board system and they introduced services like, how to find your phone using SingTel Solutions, even if that guy put a new sim card into the phone you are still able to track and find the phone.

Sixth, they showed us their office communications and other business related systems. Like the Point Of Sale (POS) system, where the customer buy something, like from NTUC, they just have to scan the barcode and everything comes up and the system will do all the accounting and such.

Seventh, they showed us the SingTel Home Solutions, where you can play PlayStation, Do a video conference with someone, watch movies and tv’s on Mio.

Eighth, they also have a healthcare monitor system for the elderly and those patient which needs help. They have many types of technologies, like button hanging around the neck to press for help.

Nineth, they told us their life story in SingTel.
This wraps up the visit for SingTel.
