PSP Go (Confirmed)

PSP Go?
Go where?
You’re not going anywhere, its just a new PSP!

With the E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) coming soon in US, there is some leaked information on the new PSP.
Formally they had different versions on the PSP, PSP Fat (Version 2000) and the PSP Slim (Version 3000).

The Old PSP .

Recently in the mailbag of photos, there is a leak of the new PSP Go photos.
Before I release them, here are some specifications and some of my thoughts which you might want to see as you maybe a hardcore PSP fan.

There is a 3.8-inch display, which is around half the size of the EEE PC netbook my Asus or the Acer Aspire One mini notebook.

It is 43 percent lighter than the PSP-3000 (Slim), good for those people like Pebble, who doesnt wants to carry a ROCK in the pocket. Who wants to hold a gaming brick in the pocket?

16GB of Flash storag
e, definitely better than Hard-Drive based. The industry standards is going to 32GB, and with one game costing almost 1GB plus. 16GB is totally unacceptable, you need some change, Sony. Anyway, this is just a rumour, so I hope after you read this, please bump up the storage size, and for the love of .. everyone, stop marketing your overly priced Sony M2 Memory Stick. No one can afford it compared to SD card, MiniSD or even MMC/MicroSD. Im just saying but please do keep this as a customer feedback, it do help to mend the hole in our pocket in such recession times. Unless Sony doesn’t mind to offer some discounts, you know

Bluetooth built-in; supports handset tethering and BT headsets – Pretty lame. This feature should be in during the PSP Slim, as now is way too late. Tethering is pretty alright, and BT Headsets is a thumbs up feature! And wait! Are you going to support tranferring media files to another device? Hopefully, because sometimes I may want to send my UNCOPYRIGHTED music to my friends.

No UMD drive – Boos that! Old PSP users, find a way to change that into a digital format! And Sony, you know that this dont work, why you put in this crap piece of CD lookalike into the PSP? Thats so 80s.

Memory Stick Micro slot – Well, Sony, you always put that onto your products. No hype already.

New Gran Turismo, Little Big Planet and new Metal Gear Solid (!) on the way – Expected, if not no one will buy the PSP’s, but im looking forward to Metal Gear Solid! So Kudos to that!

Full PlayStation Network support (movie and TV rentals / purchases) – The New iTunes Store? Spot on. You are on the right track, although that should come a little earlier to heat the market up, don’t you think so? And as always, please charge cheaper than US 99 cents for a song purchase and don’t DRM all your music and movies. Please. And May I welcome you to open your store in SG as well.

Integration with PlayStation 3 (works the same as the PSP-3000 does) – Yes, nothing surprising. Integration and Interoperability is the key to success.

Sony views each of its products as “10-year lifecycle products,” so the PSP “needs to live on.” – Good Luck and hope you make more revenue during Q3 and release more updates and features to the firmware. At least allow us to modify our PSP lah! Don’t so selfish leh!

Here is the photos you are waiting for.

how cheap do u want the m2 to be?

Think of it this way . if other phones used M2. it would definately make sony’s M2 cheaper . but Since other phones use mini/microsd . definately the market price would be cheaper . m2 is only for sony ericsson phones and PSP (with the adapter) . and other phones never had the intention of using M2.

Anyway . 16GB would be sufficient. at least a M2 Slot is provided. With 16GB of flash space. Sony has to program the PSP speed well so that it doesn’t lag. But modifications for the psp make the speed at the max (currently psp slims are using 333/333 both fr the cpu and game speed) .

I would be thinking if they placed in 32gb of flash space, they would need a controller chip to control the speed of the psp. otherwise if its stuck at a speed . the games would lag and people would find it trash.
