Yes!
I got my hands on the Microsoft Windows 7 - Developers Preview, and to be frank, Im using it right now to talk to you. I even sacrifice my lunch to install Windows 7.
To those people who doesn’t know about Windows 7, it is actually the version after Windows Vista. Surprisingly, Windows 7 looks exactly like Windows Vista. Windows 7 is now only available for those people in the MSDN Network or inside the Microsoft Beta-Testers programme.
Check this:
Yes, thats Maggi noodles and Banana’s, Ahahas.
I am going to show you what is inside Windows 7, so you get to see it first, before anyone else do. Windows 7 will only be launched during mid 2009. Just to inform you that I am using a Windows 7 Pre-Beta release, and the next release will be next month. I will keep you informed about it.
Here I am, taking the risk to install a PRE-BETA edition of Windows 7, I know it is risky, but it is worth it to see the success!
Windows 7 does not have the Not Responding issue on Windows Explorer anymore. It seems that its improving
PLEASE DONT TRY IT, IF YOU MANAGE TO GET A COPY OF IT. There are still some bugs around the system, do not use it yet!
Before you start installing Windows 7, as usual, you will see a Vista-like installation screen.
Windows 7 is running under the Windows Vista System + Enhancements.
When the system is installing, it looks exactly like the same thing as Vista.
After the long reboot with the Windows 7 Ultimate, It starts with this really cool black screen that we dont see in other versions of Microsoft Windows.

Welcome to Windows 7 Ultimate!

Windows 7 is better than the last time, they will get you to enter a password to continue. So, Compulsory, Password needed. Start planning to choose a password to your next Windows 7 PC . Haha.
And if Windows 7 detect your Wireless Card, it will actually search for you and show you which network you wish to connect to.. Not bad for a Pre-Beta release from Microsoft.
After that, Windows 7 do need time to tabulate your settings.

After Windows 7 is started, I was greeted with this screen.

To show you that I’m running Windows 7 on my laptop, here is one photo that make you believe.
![]()
This is a brief system detail about my laptop, and the great thing is it is running quite fast on my system right now, not many noticeable lags on the system Im running right now.

This is how the Login screen looks like, same as Windows Vista.

After going into Windows 7, this is how it looks like, you can notice some new changes to the interface at first view:
After looking at it for a while and activating the Windows Aero interface, this is some new features that I can see..
So here is the …
TOP 14 REASONS AND GOODIES OF WINDOWS 7
1) New Superbar (Taskbar) , but Microsoft insist in calling it Superbar ( Advertising Gimmicks! )
Microsoft Jumplist
![]()
You just have to move your mouse over it and everything will show up under the colum, it actually copies the Mac OS X Dock.
![]()
2) Better looking ” Start Interface “
![]()
Looks more transparent and Clean, better looking shutdown icons.
3) Windows Explorer and Libaries
Enter and Explore everything with ‘ One Click ‘ experience, easy to access and the interface is less cluttered. The new interface and bigger looking icons make it look easier on the eyes.
4) Better Networking Viewing
![]()
Allows you to see all the available networks simply.
5) Windows Media Centre ( Faster )
![]()
Serve your music and choose it easily.
6) Wordpad ( Previously known as Notepad )
![]()
It looks totally one of a kind in Windows 7, Notepad redesigned Wordpad!
7) Windows Solution Centre ( Formally known as Windows Security Centre )
![]()
They just redesigned the interface for you, easier on eyes but it wont bug you that much if you do not have an antivirus or firewall installed.
Microsoft Internet Explorer Beta 2
![]()
Something new and surprising. Microsoft finally decided to focus on attacking Viruses and Spyware now, so every single thing you download on Internet Explorer using Windows 7 will be scanned by other websites to make sure that you do not download something which harms your computer.
Windows PowerShell allows you to easily spot your code errors and it has a debugger tool, right inside it.
Microsoft Paint now looks SO MUCH BETTER and NICER. Compared those in Windows 95 and Windows 98.
11) Microsoft Windows 7 - Jumplist Feature (Windows Media Player Rollover Popup)

I couldnt get this photo on my computer because I’m not particularly a big fan of Windows Media Player, I use Winamp more often, Sometimes iTunes, So Windows Media Player could not tell me what song is just played or listened to the most.
12) Microsoft Re-alignment ( My English ;D )

I do not have so much time to play with this realignment tool and get a screenshot of it. What is this thing about? When you shift a Window to the side of your screen, Windows 7 will detect it and try to offer an alternate space (resize) for you to dump it in.
13) Sticky Notes
![]()
You could easily create a note and put it up on your desktop to remind you.
14) ” Feedback to Microsoft “
![]()
On this Beta release, Im able to send a feedback to Microsoft about it’s product! Tell them more about my problems and bug them with a solution.
–
Thats all for Windows 7, we will be seeing more improvements when I get my hands onto the Windows 7 Beta next month.
I am now using Windows 7 as my workstation! I will report back if there is any major problems I come into.
